The Lawrence Hotel, a proud member of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, celebrates the vibrant culture of Lawrenceville while delivering the elevated guest experience synonymous with Hilton. As we prepare to welcome our first guests, we are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Sales & Events Manager to generate group and event business and position The Lawrence Hotel as a premier destination for meetings, weddings, and social gatherings.


Position Overview

The Sales & Events Manager is responsible for driving revenue through proactive sales efforts focused on meetings, corporate groups, weddings, and social events. This role manages the full lifecycle of event business, from prospecting and contracting to planning and execution—ensuring a seamless client experience and maximizing utilization of the hotel’s meeting and event spaces.


Key Responsibilities

Group & Event Sales

  • Proactively solicit and secure group, meeting, wedding, and social event business to achieve revenue goals.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, RFPs, and leads through Hilton and third-party channels.
  • Conduct site tours and client presentations to showcase the hotel’s guestrooms, meeting space, and event capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing within established guidelines to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Maintain accurate account activity and pipeline reporting in Delphi or designated sales systems.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients from contract through event completion.
  • Prepare detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) outlining room setups, menus, timelines, and special requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with the Executive Chef, Banquets, Front Office, and Operations to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Lead pre-event meetings and ensure all departments are aligned on event details.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up to ensure satisfaction and secure repeat business.

Meeting Space & Revenue Optimization

  • Maximize utilization and revenue for all meeting and event spaces through strategic booking and space management.
  • Identify upsell opportunities including food & beverage, audiovisual, guestroom blocks, and enhancements.
  • Monitor booking pace, space availability, and event mix to support total hotel revenue performance.

Community & Market Development

  • Build relationships with local businesses, wedding planners, organizations, and community partners.
  • Represent The Lawrence Hotel at networking events, bridal shows, and local industry functions.
  • Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing on targeted campaigns to drive local event demand.

Pre-Opening Responsibilities

  • Assist with building the group and events pipeline prior to opening.
  • Develop sales collateral, event menus, and meeting space materials.
  • Establish event planning procedures, BEO standards, and operational workflows.
  • Support opening readiness and initial event execution for a successful launch.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of hotel sales, catering, or event management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate meetings, social events, weddings, and group markets.
  • Experience with Delphi, OnQ/PEP, or similar hotel sales systems preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about hospitality and client service.
