The Overnight Cleaning Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring Chick‑fil‑A City Ave opens each day in a spotless, safe, and fully operational condition. This leader oversees all cleaning and maintenance activities during overnight hours, supports team performance, and ensures the building meets Chick‑fil‑A’s high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and readiness. The ideal candidate is reliable, proactive, and skilled in both hands‑on cleaning and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the overnight cleaning team to ensure all tasks are completed with excellence.
- Assign nightly responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Ensure team members follow safety, sanitation, and chemical‑handling procedures.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Close and clean the dining room
- Sweep and mop floors
- Clean bathrooms and change garbage
- Thoroughly clean the ice cream machine
- Break down and sanitize kitchen and counter equipment
- Verify truck items against the invoice and store products correctly
- Conduct final walkthrough to ensure cleanliness and equipment placement
- Document any damaged or missing items and notify leadership
Cleaning & Sanitation Excellence
- Keep all areas of the building in a clean, sanitary, and guest‑ready condition.
- Perform and oversee heavy‑duty cleaning tasks including scrubbing, degreasing, and equipment breakdown.
- Clean building floors (vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, sweeping).
- Clean and restock restrooms, windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Ensure all cleaning tools, chemicals, and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored.
Maintenance & Repair Support
- Perform routine maintenance activities and minor repairs as needed.
- Identify and report facility issues requiring repair or replacement.
- Ensure equipment is reassembled correctly and ready for morning operations.
Safety & Security
- Conduct nightly building security checks, including locking doors and verifying equipment shutdown.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including chemical handling and PPE usage.
- Monitor for hazards and address or report them promptly.
Operational Readiness
- Complete nightly checklists and document completed tasks.
- Communicate shift updates, maintenance needs, and concerns to leadership.
- Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for the opening team each morning.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Cleaner, Janitor, or Facilities Technician.
- Prior leadership or team‑lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and respond quickly to issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach and guide others.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle equipment, supplies, and furniture.
- Ability to work overnight shifts consistently.
- Proactive and solutions‑oriented.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail‑driven.
- Comfortable balancing hands‑on cleaning with leadership responsibilities.
