Meridian Ace Hardware is currently accepting applications in advance of our planned store opening in early March 2026. Employment start dates will align with pre-opening training and store readiness.
Job Title: Customer Service Associate
Positions Available: Multiple
Hours: Full Time/Part Time (12 hrs/wk up to 40 hrs/wk)
Location: Meridian Ace Hardware
Reports To: Store Management Team
Starting Pay: $16-$17/hr
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate at Meridian Ace Hardware is to Amaze Every Customer, Every Time while upholding the core values established by the management team. Sales Associates actively engage customers, determine their needs, and assist with product selection while delivering the legendary customer service Ace Hardware is known for.
Sales Associates serve customers throughout the store and play a key role in daily operations, merchandising, and maintaining a welcoming, well-organized retail environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Greet customers promptly and engage them in a friendly, helpful manner
• Determine customer needs and assist with product selection, recommendations, and solutions
• Serve customers storewide and provide accurate advice or information
• Promote and enroll customers in the Ace Rewards program
• Assist customers with large or heavy items as needed
• Unload incoming trucks and put away freight as directed by store management
• Restock merchandise displays and maintain organized, full shelves
• Maintain awareness of all current promotions and advertisements
• Handle special orders for non-stock items and follow through to completion
• Execute daily operational goals and priorities assigned by store management
• Cooperate with others and work effectively as part of a retail team
• Help train new team members as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Strong customer-service skills with a friendly, prompt, and attentive approach
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn all areas of the store and expand product knowledge
• Proven ability to work well as part of a team
• Prior retail or hardware experience preferred
• Knowledge or experience in multiple departments is strongly desired
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk, reach, bend, and perform repetitive motions
• Ability to move, lift, and handle merchandise and fixtures weighing up to 60 pounds
