Store Opening: Early March 2026

Meridian Ace Hardware is currently accepting applications in advance of our planned store opening in early March 2026. Employment start dates will align with pre-opening training and store readiness.


Job Title: Cashier

Positions Available: Multiple

Hours: Full Time/Part Time (12 hours/wk up to 40 hours/wk)

Location: Meridian Ace Hardware

Reports To: Store Management Team

Starting Pay: $16/hr


We are seeking outgoing, friendly, and helpful team members to welcome and assist customers. Previous hardware experience is a plus but not a requirement as we provide extensive training.

Job Summary


The primary responsibility of the Cashier at Meridian Ace Hardware is to Amaze Every Customer, Every Time while upholding the core values established by the management team. Cashiers are the face of our store and play a critical role in delivering the legendary customer service Ace Hardware is known for.


Cashiers are responsible for providing a welcoming, friendly, and efficient checkout experience while accurately handling all register transactions and supporting daily store operations.


Key Responsibilities

    •    Greet every customer promptly and professionally, creating a positive first and last impression

    •    Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions, including purchases, returns, refunds, and exchanges

    •    Operate cash registers, scanners, and point-of-sale systems in accordance with company procedures

    •    Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked register area

    •    Promote and enroll customers in the Ace Rewards loyalty program

    •    Answer incoming phone calls and take accurate messages when needed

    •    Maintain awareness of current store promotions, sales, and advertisements

    •    Provide basic product or store information and direct customers to appropriate team members when necessary

    •    Assist with additional tasks and duties as assigned by store management

    •    Consistently provide legendary customer service that exceeds customer expectations


Qualifications & Skills

    •    Friendly, positive attitude with a strong customer-service mindset

    •    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    •    Attention to detail and accuracy when handling cash and transactions

    •    Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced retail environment

    •    Basic math and computer skills

    •    Retail or cashier experience preferred, but not required


Physical Requirements

    •    Ability to stand for extended periods of time

    •    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

    •    Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as required
