We are looking for an ambitious new Kitchen Crew Member to join our team to assist in preparing delicious Jamaican dishes. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations, preparing sauces & ingredients, and cooking following company recipes to meet high standards.

A great Crew Candidate will be quick, diligent, coachable, and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team environment.

• Working quickly to complete daily assigned duties within allotted timelines.
• Performing routine and non-routine job tasks efficiently.
• Label and stock supplies and ingredients on shelves and coolers to maintain organized work spaces.
• Reporting any issues that arise during the shift to a supervisor.
• Managing one's own time correctly to ensure the cooking and preparation of food is done quickly and up to standard.
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards for both FOH & BOH.
• Maintain a consistently clean & organized kitchen and cooler.
• Ability to wash & sanitize work surfaces, tools, and equipment as needed.
• Receiving coaching from other team members openly to perform job tasks more effectively.
• Training new crew members when designated by a Supervisor or Manager.
• Handling multiple given tasks or projects at once and self-prioritizing as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience as a cook or in a fast-casual kitchen environment.
• Experience working as part of a team.
• Ability to work standing for long periods without breaks. (4 to 6 hours)
• Ability to lift or move items up to 50lbs in weight off the ground or from a shelf.
• Ability to effectively read and write in English. (Bilingual candidates are a plus.)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Confident problem-solver.
• Availability to work Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
