Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of store operations and merchandising in Front End and Seasonal departments.
  • Manage inventory, monitor sales, and ensure departments are well-stocked, well-maintained, and well-signed/labeled.
  • Ensure register sales and refund operations are fluid, with all policies and procedures being followed by cashiers and supervisors. Work with AP to investigate overages and shortages.
  • Front End and Seasonal stockrooms to be maintained at same levels as salesfloor.
  • Tour areas of responsibility daily, beginning in parking lot before proceeding inside, to ensure lot and entrances are safe, clean and inviting to customers.
  • Front of store and main drive aisle to be clean, inviting, and promotional, with merchandise reflecting timely status.
  • Recruit, hire, train, lead, and maintain a motivated team of talented associates, store-wide, to achieve store goals. Promote productivity, efficiency, attendance and world class customer service. Keep associate standards high.
  • Follow-up to HR issues on a timely basis, ensuring that General Store policies and Washington State Labor Regulations are being followed. Examples of these would include employment paperwork, corrective and personal interviews, and terminations
  • Oversee Asset Protection Team, ensuring both internal and external shrink are minimized. Ensure door greeters/monitors are trained to work closely with AP team to assist with shrink reduction, in addition to being affable and knowledgable customer greeters.
  • Attend and participate in weekly management/owner meetings.
  • Work to attain and surpass sales and profit goals established by GM and owners.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; additional education is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in retail management is required.
  • Working knowledge of state Human Resources regulations, policies and procedures is required.
