Black Bear Talent is recruiting for a Cabinet Assembler for our client in Harrisonburg, VA. The Cabinet Assembler is responsible for assembling cabinets and cabinet components in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on reading basic drawings, assembling parts accurately, installing hardware, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble cabinets and cabinet components using provided drawings or instructions
- Operate basic woodworking equipment and hand tools safely
- Install cabinet hardware such as hinges, drawer slides, and pulls
- Measure, cut, sand, and adjust components as needed for proper fit
- Inspect assembled cabinets for quality and accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow company safety policies and production procedures
- Communicate with supervisors regarding work progress or issues
- Work efficiently to meet daily production goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in cabinet assembly, millwork, or woodworking (preferred but not required)
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Experience using common woodworking tools such as saws, sanders, drills, and routers
- Basic understanding of cabinet construction and assembly methods
- Ability to work independently or as part of a small team
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen
- Good attendance record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 lbs with assistance as needed
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
Work Environment
- Work is performed in a manufacturing shop environment
- Exposure to noise, dust, and woodworking materials
- Use of power tools and machinery with appropriate safety equipment
