Overview:
Black Bear Talent is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves operating a box truck or short flatbed to deliver materials accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will be dependable, customer-service oriented, and committed to maintaining safe delivery practices and proper vehicle care.
Candidates must be at least 21 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, secure, and unload materials for delivery using appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., straps, pallet jacks, dollies).
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of truck (tires, lights, fluids, brakes, etc.) and complete required Vehicle Inspection Reports (VIRs). Report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
- Verify accuracy of shipping manifests, order tickets, and material before departure. Promptly report discrepancies to dispatcher or supervisor with photo documentation.
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to meet time-sensitive schedules while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Communicate ETA updates with customers via call or text before arrival. Confirm deliveries by texting drop-off location and sending photo documentation.
- Take photos of truck loads before departure and at each delivery and pickup location for tracking and verification purposes.
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch and customers throughout the day regarding schedules, delays, and any special instructions.
- Document proof of delivery, customer receipt, and any discrepancies per company protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns on-site and relaying feedback to the team.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed; assist with general warehouse duties when not on delivery.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a clean driving record. Drivers are responsible for moving violations. Equipment issues reported and documented in advance will be covered by the company.
- Be available for additional same-day runs or second deliveries as needed. Notify dispatch early if unavailable.
- Follow company policies and dress code, including wearing closed-toe work shoes. Safety vests, hard hats, and glasses are required on job sites.
- Foster a positive team environment, treat colleagues with respect, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Be willing to have occasional same-day and second runs as required
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience in delivery driving and or warehouse operations preferred
Schedule:
Full-time | Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
