Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on General Manager to lead operations at a high-volume express tunnel car wash. This role is responsible for overall site performance including operations management, team leadership, customer experience, membership sales growth, and financial results. The General Manager will lead a team of approximately 10 to 15 employees while creating a positive, high-energy culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
This position is ideal for a strong operations leader with experience in car wash management, retail management, service management, hospitality management, or high-volume customer service environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations of the express tunnel car wash to ensure safety, efficiency, and high-quality service
Monitor tunnel equipment performance and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional facility including wash tunnel, equipment rooms, and property grounds
Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and environmental guidelines
Team Leadership
Recruit, hire, train, and develop a team of approximately 10 to 15 employees
Create a strong team culture that emphasizes performance, accountability, and customer service
Provide coaching, performance feedback, and leadership development for staff
Schedule and manage labor to support operational efficiency and service levels
Customer Experience
Deliver a consistently exceptional guest experience through friendly, efficient service
Handle customer concerns and feedback quickly and professionally
Lead by example on the wash line and set clear expectations for service quality
Financial and Business Performance
Drive site performance to meet or exceed revenue, membership, and profitability targets
Manage key performance indicators including sales, labor costs, membership growth, and customer satisfaction
Oversee daily cash handling, deposits, and transaction accuracy
Identify opportunities to increase membership sales, retention, and traffic
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in car wash management, retail management, service management, hospitality management, or similar operations leadership roles
Proven ability to lead teams and drive business performance
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a hands-on operational role including equipment checks and facility upkeep
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Valid driver’s license required
Background check and drug screening may be required based on state guidelines
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand and move continuously for extended periods up to 8 to 10 hours per shift
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, crouching, and lifting required
Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly
Comfortable working in outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and humidity
Regular exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, noise, and moving mechanical equipment
Ability to communicate clearly and respond quickly to safety or operational concerns in a fast-paced environment
