IHOP Cook:
Our Cooks are responsible for preparing high-quality food with consistency, urgency, and attention to detail. This role is essential to delivering the guest experience our restaurants are known for. Successful cooks take pride in organization, cleanliness, teamwork, and executing at a high level during both routine operations and busy peak periods.
Team members are expected to learn menu specifications, plating standards, cooking procedures, and kitchen systems while maintaining a clean and professional work environment. We value cooks who communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and contribute positively to the culture and flow of the kitchen.
This is an active position that requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and safely performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Team members may assist with additional restaurant tasks as needed to support daily operations and guest service standards. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs and team support.

Cook Requirements:
• Prior cooking or kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and work efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Understanding of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen organization
• Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain urgency during busy shifts
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout the shift
• Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and supplies
• Prepare food items according to company recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and portioning standards
• Assist with food prep, stocking, rotation, and inventory organization
• Communicate effectively with both front- and back-of-house team members
• Support fellow kitchen staff during high-volume periods
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with cleaning equipment, storage areas, and kitchen workspaces at the end of shifts
