The Physical Therapy Aide supports licensed physical therapists in providing high-quality care to residents
recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. This role is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare, rehabilitation,
or gaining experience in a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists during treatment sessions under appropriate supervision
- Prepare and clean treatment areas, equipment, and therapy gyms
- Transport residents safely to and from therapy sessions
- Set up therapeutic equipment and assist with non-skilled exercises as directed
- Monitor resident comfort and report changes or concerns to therapy staff
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment
- Follow all facility policies, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
- Assist Therapy Director with administrative duties
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing setting preferred (but not required)
- Passion for therapy or seeking career in PT or OT preferred
- Ability to work with elderly and medically complex residents
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and assist residents as needed
- Dependable, compassionate, and professional demeanor
