We’re looking for a Shift Leader—a strong, experienced diesel technician who can lead by example and keep the shop running smoothly during their shift.
This is a working lead position. You’ll still be on the tools, but you’ll also help guide the crew, keep jobs moving, and handle day-to-day issues when management isn’t right there.
If you’re already the tech others look to for answers, this role was made for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading technicians during your assigned shift
- Keeping bays productive and jobs moving
- Prioritizing work and handling workflow issues
- Assisting techs with troubleshooting when needed
- Coordinating with Service Advisors
- Making sure safety and shop standards are followed
- Opening or closing the shop (as assigned)
- Communicating issues or needs to management
You lead while working, not from an office.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years diesel or heavy-duty experience preferred
- Have you own tools
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills
- Respected by other technicians
- Reliable, calm under pressure, and professional
- Comfortable making decisions during the shift
- Willing to take responsibility and ownership
- Reliable transportation
This is not a management or desk role.
What This Role Is NOT
- No hiring or firing
- No payroll or HR duties
- No policymaking
- No micromanaging
Pay (Baton Rouge Market)
- $2–$4/hr. more than base technician pay
- Typical range: $28–$33/hr., depending on experience
- Overtime eligible
- Raises and bonuses available for consistent performance
