The Club Food Runner is responsible for assisting servers in running food from the kitchen to members and guests tables in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner.  The Food Runner is a crucial restaurant position whose responsibility is to communicate clearly with guests and support both servers and kitchen staff.  The Food Runner’s position is a very important connection between the “Front of the House” and “Back of the House” that really makes a difference in timeliness of service.



Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Completion of all Food Runner Opening / Closing procedures as assigned for shift, restock supplies as needed.

-Delivering Food to members and guests quickly and efficiently.

-Communicates effectively with the Chef, Dining Room Manager and Servers to assure that the food goes out quickly, the food is served correctly and the food looks as beautiful as the Chef intended.

-Observes guests and assists Servers in responding to additional requests or needs throughout their dining service.

-Responsible for fulfilling and delivering all TO-GO Orders from the kitchen to the member in an efficient, detail oriented and courteous manner.


Additional Responsibilities: 

-Knowledge of all the ingredients and details of every dish on the menu. 

-Safely handle equipment, china, glassware and silver to minimize breakage and loss of Club property.

-Properly disposes of garbage and gathers soiled linen in bags and places in bins to be cleaned.

-Answer the telephone with a friendly and helpful tone, during shift when needed.


Requirements:


Required Skill/Knowledge: 

-Must be able to communicate effectively and possess a neat, clean, and professional appearance.

-Effective written and oral communication skills.

-Efficient time management skills.

-Ability to interpret and follow general instructions/diagrams to perform related duties.

-Prior Customer Service and/or Service Industry experience.

-Ability to carry/lift heavy trays and stand/move for prolonged periods of time.


Preferred Skills/ Knowledge: 

-Previous Country Club / Fine Dining work experience.

-Experience working within a fast paced environment.


Education Level / Required Certification: 

-Some college preferred.

-Completion of Food Handlers Safety & Training Course


Problem Solving: 

-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

-Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
