Golf Course Landscaper

Rate of payStarting at $14 per hour

The Equipment Operator/Laborer is responsible for the care and maintenance of the golf course and related areas. This individual must also demonstrate proper and safe use of motorized riding equipment such as mowers, service vehicles and bunker rakes; hand-held motorized equipment such as blowers, string mowers, edgers, sod cutters and chain saws; hand-held tools such as rakes, shovels, and brooms. Other maintenance/labor-related duties will be assigned as needed. 


Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Responsible for coordinating with the Golf Course superintendent, and/or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent for direction and assignments; operating motorized equipment and use of hand tools for the maintenance of the golf course, including mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough, clubhouse grounds, and related property. 

-Completes all trimming and edging of pond banks, bunkers, cart path curbs, sidewalks and around trees. 

-Rakes sand bunkers, irrigates turf, trees and other plant material; picks up debris throughout property (e.g., leaves, paper, branches, and grass clippings); fills divots in tees and fairways; repairs ball marks; cleans and maintains cart paths. 

-Cleans golf course restrooms; maintains proper fuel, oil and grease levels in all equipment used; reports needed equipment maintenance to supervisor; cleans all tools and equipment.

-Returns all tools and equipment to its proper location in maintenance facility; maintains a clean and orderly maintenance facility and shop yard. 


Additional Responsibilities:

-Assists in other duties as assigned by Golf Course Superintendent such as, but not limited to, irrigation repairs and installation; drainage installation; aerating, tee service, construction projects, planting of trees, shrubs, and other plant material.


Requirements:


Required Skill/Knowledge:

-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, Equipment Technician, Crew Leader, and staff members.



Education Level/Required Certification:

-Drivers’ License

-High School Diploma preferred but not required
