Job Description
At Chick-fil-A, the Closing Specialist role is more than just finishing the day—it’s about ownership and preparation. Closing Specialists are responsible for leading and executing the restaurant's closing, ensuring all areas are clean, stocked, organized, and fully prepared for the next day’s operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work with urgency while maintaining high standards across Front of House, Back of House, and drive-thru.

Closing Specialist Responsibilities
S.E.R.V.E Model Expectations
• Serve with Hospitality: Maintain a positive and team-focused environment through the end of the shift
• Execute with Excellence: Ensure all closing tasks are completed thoroughly, accurately, and on time
• Respect Food Safety & Standards: Follow all food safety, sanitation, and closing procedures
• Value Teamwork & Growth: Support and guide team members to successfully complete closing responsibilities
• Elevate the Experience: Prepare the restaurant to deliver an exceptional experience for the next day
Closing Operations & Execution
• Lead and execute all closing procedures for FOH, BOH, and drive-thru
• Ensure all stations are properly cleaned, stocked, and reset for the next day
• Complete and verify all closing checklists, including cleaning, stocking, and organization
• Ensure all food is properly stored, labeled, and rotated (FIFO)
• Break down, clean, and sanitize equipment according to standards
Cleanliness & Readiness
• Deep clean all areas of the restaurant, including the kitchen, dining room, restrooms, and workstations
• Ensure floors, surfaces, equipment, and high-touch areas are fully cleaned and sanitized
• Take ownership of the overall restaurant appearance and readiness
• Always maintain an inspection-ready environment
Food Safety & Compliance
• Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper storage, temperature control, and sanitation
• Ensure waste is properly handled and disposed of
• Complete required food safety logs and closing documentation
Team Support & Accountability
• Support and guide team members during closing to ensure all tasks are completed to standard
• Hold yourself and others accountable to cleanliness, safety, and operational expectations
• Communicate any issues, low inventory, or maintenance needs to leadership
• Maintain a strong sense of urgency while ensuring quality and accuracy
Operations Support
• Support FOH, BOH, and drive-thru operations during peak evening hours
• Assist with restocking, prep, and setup for the next day’s operations
• Ensure all supplies, stations, and equipment are ready for the opening team
Qualifications and Requirements
• Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evening/closing shifts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
• Flexible availability, including nights (6pm / 7pm – 12 am /1am) and weekends
