Job Description
At Chick-fil-A, the Team Leader (Shift Leader) role is more than just a position—it’s an opportunity to lead, coach, and influence daily operations. Team Leaders are responsible for executing high-performing shifts, developing team members, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences across Front-of-House, Back-of-House, and Drive-thru operations. This role bridges the gap between team members and senior leadership, requiring strong communication, accountability, and a commitment to excellence in all areas of the business.

Team Leader Responsibilities
S.E.R.V.E Model Expectations
- Serve with Hospitality: Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service and creating a positive team environment

Leadership & Shift Execution
- Lead and manage daily shift operations across FOH, BOH, and drive-thru
- Assign positions, manage labor, and adjust based on business needs
- Ensure smooth shift transitions, communication, and execution of daily goals
- Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, and overall guest experience
- Maintain a sense of urgency while ensuring quality and hospitality standards are met
Front of House & Drive-Thru Leadership
- Oversee guest interactions to ensure exceptional hospitality
- Support and coach team members in order taking, service, and guest engagement
- Ensure drive-thru operations are fast, accurate, and efficient
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all guest-facing areas
Back of House Leadership
- Oversee food preparation to ensure quality, consistency, and speed
- Enforce food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and temperature control
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times
- Support inventory, stocking, and equipment oversight
Coaching, Accountability & Development
- Coach team members in real time to improve performance and uphold standards
- Reinforce training and support onboarding of new team members
- Address performance concerns with professionalism and consistency
- Document and communicate performance trends to Leadership
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure all checklists, food safety logs, and operational procedures are completed
- Maintain restaurant readiness for inspections and audits
- Monitor equipment, cleanliness, and overall facility standards
- Support opening, closing, and daily operational routines
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven reliability, professionalism, and strong work ethic
- Positive attitude with a passion for serving and leading others
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and lead effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in customer service or restaurant operations preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed
