Position Details
- Role: School-Based Occupational Therapist Assistant
- Location: Citrus County, Florida
- Salary: $27.00 - $32.00 an hour (depending on experience)
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday during normal school hours, 1,400 hours per year (Work-life balance!)
- Calendar: Follow the school schedule—holidays and breaks included
- Want to earn more? During school breaks, therapists have the opportunity to work in our outpatient clinics in an as-needed basis!
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate students and identify strengths and areas of need
- Create engaging, individualized therapy plans connected to IEP goals
- Provide fun, functional therapy sessions in classrooms, small groups, or one-on-one settings
- Support students with:
- Fine motor and handwriting skills
- Sensory processing and self-regulation
- Visual-motor integration
- Daily living and adaptive skills
- Classroom participation and independence
- Collaborate with teachers, families, counselors, and support staff
- Recommend adaptive tools, sensory strategies, and classroom accommodations
- Participate in IEP meetings and help advocate for student success
- Celebrate milestones big and small with students and families
- Maintain documentation and progress reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Florida OT license
- NBCOT certification preferred
- Pediatric or school-based experience is a plus
- A team player with creativity, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Someone who can turn therapy into meaningful, motivating experiences for students
