PRN Respiratory Therapist

Carolina’s Hometown Respiratory is currently seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist for our Pineville, North Carolina location. In this role, you will be responsible for administering respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiopulmonary system under supervision of physician and by prescription.
The right candidate will have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
- Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License, Credentials obtained from NBRC
- Knowledge of Word Processing and system software.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume.
Our Respiratory Therapist will:
- Read prescription, review patient information for accuracy and provides therapy as prescribed.
- Determine most suitable supplies to be provided to patients, precautions to be observed, and modifications which may be needed that will be compatible with Physician's orders.
- Set up and operate devices such as PAP devices for OSA along with supplemental oxygen equipment.
- Operate equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as pressure, volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature.
- Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy.
- Observe equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy.
- Consult with Physician in event of adverse reactions.
- Maintain patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.
- Inspect and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Order repairs when needed.
- Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
