Gervasi Vineyard has openings for the exciting position of Wine Ambassador. The Ambassador will conduct public and ticketed events in the Winery and The Wine Cave and lead Wine Tastings and Pairings. Being comfortable speaking in public and to larger groups is a must!
This is a Part-Time Position. Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, nights, and off-site events, if needed. We are offering a competitive hourly rate based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Independently responsible for conducting educational Public and Ticketed Winery, Distillery, and Wine Cave Tours, lasting anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes.
- Support and participate in offsite public and private wine-related events.
- Be a subject matter expert on all Wines produced at Gervasi Vineyard.
- Knowledgeable about overall Gervasi Vineyard Operations, facilities and locations, events, and offerings.
- Friendly and welcoming spokesperson for overall Gervasi Vineyard property.
- Assist in all aspects of Winery and Wine Cave Tour and Event preparation and tear down of equipment, supplies, product, and displays.
- Repetitively pouring wine to specified amounts.
- Always ensure the comfort and safety of Guests.
- Complete the “Wine and Spirits Ambassador” Training Program.
Pay: $12.00- $16.00 per hour, plus tips (depending on experience and wine knowledge)
Requirements:
- Education: High School
- Experience: Knowledge of winery, vineyard operations, wine types and grape varietals is desirable.
- Be polished, comfortable, proficient, and engaging at public speaking.
- Must possess excellent people skills and be able to speak to small and large groups, ranging from 2 to 50 people.
- Be able to communicate information in an enjoyable and interesting format.
- Be a great listener and informatively respond to spontaneous questions from Guests and Visitors.
- Always be well-mannered, courteous, amiable, and considerate.
