Inside Sales Representative

Lowder Sales, Inc., a family-owned independent manufacturers’ representative agency serving the plumbing and mechanical industries since 1970. We are hiring an Inside Sales Representative with a defined path into an Outside Sales/Territory Manager role. This position will be based out of our Columbus, Ohio office, with a planned transition into managing one of our larger sales territories after an intentional 6 to 9-month development period.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2-5 years of sales, account management, or related experience
- Plumbing, construction, or building materials experience preferred
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable learning technical products and presenting information
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel within assigned territory
Responsibilities:
Phase 1- Inside Sales Development (First 6-9 months)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for contractors, distributors, and wholesalers
- Support customers with product selection, pricing, quotations, and problem‑solving
- Collaborate with outside sales reps to support territory objectives
- Participate in manufacturers training, customer visits, and market events
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and activity in our CRM
- Stay informed on product updates, industry trends, and competitive activity
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership
Phase 2- Outside Sales/Territory Manager
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships within your territory
- Take ownership of territory growth, sales planning, and time management
- Identify opportunities, generate leads, and close new business
- Participating in industry associations, trainings, and customer events
- Provide consistent sales reporting, forecasts, and CRM documentation
- Collaborate closely with inside sales, marketing, and leadership
- Act as a problem‑solver and partner for customers and manufacturers
