Float Registered Nurse

Here at Pain Management Group, we’re searching for a Float Registered Nurse to join our team in Midland, Michigan! This position is responsible for the direct care of pain management patients on a day-to-day basis, including hands-on patient care in both clinic and procedures across a variety of clinic locations. You will be part of a clinical team dedicated to helping patients who suffer from chronic pain receive safe and responsible treatment options that help them improve their quality of life. This position will assess, plan, direct, administer, teach, and evaluate nursing care, and ensure quality and efficiency according to established hospital and PMG policies and procedures.

** This position will work at clinics in Gladwin, Midland, West Branch, Alma and Clare. **
What are we looking for?
- Associate degree from an accredited school or college of nursing (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)
- Two years’ experience as a clinical nurse in a hospital environment, preferred experience in critical care, surgery, or emergency department
- Current state license as a Registered Nurse
- ACLS certification within one year of hire or transfer
- BLS certification within one month of hire or transfer
- TEAM Advanced (Techniques for Effective Aggression Management) within six months of hire or transfer
- Fingerprinting
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, families, and co-workers
- Ability to read and follow instructions in English
- Good basic clinical skills in delivering care
Typical day in the life as a Float Registered Nurse:
- Offer support to patient and monitor patient throughout clinical/procedure visits.
- Complete accurate documentation in patient records and charges.
- Support clinic team to follow the performance expectations for reaching the key performance indicators (KPIs) for a sustainable program: market capture goals, seeing four patients per hour, reaching 30% procedure ratio, and completing time out and chart audits to monitor quality of care.
- Assist physician and APCs with patient treatments.
- Complete dressing changes, suture and staple removal, pump refills, and pump reprogramming.
- Exhibit clinical judgement when making decisions and take immediate action in serious/emergency situations.
- Assess data reflective of the patient status and interpret the appropriate information to identify each patient’s care requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
- Review and return clinical phone line messages regarding medication refills, consulting physician and patient questions in a timely manner, and appropriately document actions and follow up with staff and providers as required.
- Demonstrate an awareness of and understanding of the surgical patient's needs for comfort, positioning and safety, and follow through to provide these needs.
- Utilize universal precautions when providing care and use supplies appropriately and avoids waste.
- Demonstrate knowledge of standards that reflect professional and JCAHO guidelines for care and recognizes personal accountability for these guidelines.
