Schedule:
Monday – Friday
7 AM – 3 PM
Our Furnace Operator will:
- Unpack and inspect cathode block and bars
- Correctly charge and operate induction furnace
- Monitor burners during preheating of the bar & block assemblies
- Measure bar for correct centering and stick out
- Correctly place kaowool, install and remove dams
- Operate fork lift and crane safely
- Take cast iron sample for analysis
- Pour molten metal from the furnace to a ladle
- Pour molten metal from a ladle into a cathode assembly
- Adhere to all safety rules enforced by OSHA and Precision International
The right candidate will have:
- Previous foundry experience is a plus
- Ability to work in hot temperatures
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as:
- Safety rules
- Operating instructions
- Procedure manuals
- Technical drawings
- Ability to gather and document operations data
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work with regularly moving mechanical parts, machines, and equipment
