Position Summary: The Project Manager will play a key role in ensuring project success by managing all aspects of the fabrication process from shop drawings through material procurement and customer coordination. This position requires strong attention to detail, clear communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and manage shop drawings, ensuring alignment with project specifications and scope.
• Perform drawing takeoffs to accurately identify and order required materials for fabrication.
• Coordinate project timelines, delivery schedules, and fabrication milestones with internal teams and customers.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with general contractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Monitor project budgets, track cost performance, and proactively address potential overruns.
• Collaborate with fabrication and field teams to ensure readiness and alignment for project execution.
• Assist with change orders, RFI tracking, and documentation.
• Support the estimating team as needed with drawing reviews and quantity verification.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in steel fabrication or construction project management.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and fabrication drawings.
• Familiarity with construction standards and sequencing are preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and project scheduling tools.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects independently.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, or similar PDF editing software.
• Knowledge of procurement practices and/or steel fabrication.
• Experience working with ERP systems or fabrication management tools.
