Purchasing Agent

Sunroof Express is in search of a sharp, ambitious, and enthusiastic full-time Purchasing Agent to join our team in Troy, Michigan! The primary role of the Purchasing Agent is to maintain agreed-upon superior stock position of direct materials. They are responsible for evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts to achieve the lowest price for high-quality goods.

- Pay: $60,000 – $70,000/year, offer dependent on experience
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 8 AM – 5 PM
- In office
- Full time – 40 hours
The right candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years' experience in purchasing and inventory management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in procurement of direct or finished goods, automotive parts a plus
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks per deadlines
- Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP a plus.
Our Purchasing Agent will:
- Identify new low-cost sources of supply for both Direct & Indirect Materials
- Run reports from purchasing tool to plan inventory purchases
- Establish & maintain procurement rules and regulations for the organization
- Evaluate & meet with top suppliers on quality, price, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services
