Tristate HRH is seeking a skilled and adaptable Floating Phlebotomist to join our expanding network of outpatient practices, community-based collection sites, hospital-affiliated clinics, and partner offices in Hudson County, New Jersey! This role is ideal for a candidate who is flexible, highly reliable, and comfortable working across multiple locations, multiple shifts, and multiple EMR systems. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient-facing specimen collection and ensure compliant, timely, and accurate specimen processing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Saturday
  • 8/9AM - 4/5PM
  • May include days, evenings, weekends, and/or rotational holidays
  • Regular travel between multiple HRH Health System locations

Qualifications – REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience with venipuncture.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Electronic Medical Records Systems (EMRs)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, revenue cycle management basics
  • Knowledge of Medical Coding (NOT CPC)
  • Proficiency in data entry and multi-system computer workflow.
  • Strong English communication skills.

Qualifications – PREFERRED:

  • Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Experience in hospital or high-volume ancillary ambulatory care settings.
  • Experience with multiple EMR platforms.

Our Phlebotomist will be responsible for:

  • Performing venipuncture and capillary collections for adult, geriatric, pediatric, and special-needs patients.
  • Conducting drug screens, biometric screenings, point-of-care testing, and insurance-required collections.
  • Administering collection protocols per SOPs.
  • Medical Records and Documentation Review for verification of documentation
  • Patient Interaction and Engagement for verification of documentation
  • Checking Medical Coverage Policy against Provider Orders
  • Acting as a liaison between Revenue Cycle Management, Analytical Services and Provider Offices
  • Verifying test orders using EMR, LIS, or electronic requisition systems.
  • Processing specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Accurately entering demographic, insurance, and billing information; collect copays when required.
  • Traveling to assigned offices and support high-volume or understaffed locations.
  • Maintaining inventory, restock supplies, and sanitize work areas.
  • Maintaining daily logs including temperatures, maintenance, and QC.
  • Learning and using multiple EMRs (eCW, Athena, Cerner, Epic, Allscripts).
  • Documenting in compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and State DOH.
