CNC Machinist

Here at Valley Machine Tool, Inc., we’re searching for a full-time CNC Machinist to join our team in Morrow, Ohio. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate CNC Mill and Lathe machining centers, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, mathematics, materials, and layout techniques.

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 6 AM – 4:30 PM
What we’re looking for:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- At least 2 years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills, lathes and other machine shop equipment
- Previous experience with programming – G-code
- Ability to use machine shop measuring equipment
Typical Week in the life of a CNC Machinist:
- Program, set up and operate lathes, mills, and a variety of machine shop equipment in accordance with established shop policies, practices, and procedures.
- Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with shop and equipment manuals as well as maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Setup – includes the ability to study blueprints and customer specifications to determine sequence of operations and setup requirements. To program, calculate, and set controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Setup machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Operate – Continues machining product after setup and verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks.
Always follows part inspection procedures and also non-conformance procedures, when necessary.
- Preventative Maintenance - Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with shop and equipment manuals. Installs machine replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
- Compliance of all policies and procedures for all tasks assigned including safety, general housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Maintain and prioritize the quality and accuracy of processes for ease of operations and to support a system to produce optimal finished products.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
