New Construction Technician (Journeyman Level)

Weeks Plumbing Inc. is currently searching for a full-time New Construction Technician (Journeyman Level) to join their team in Marysville, Ohio! In this role, you will be responsible for installing, connecting, and testing water, drainage, and gas systems in new build and remodel residential or commercial buildings. This includes the underground, rough-in, gas line, and finish steps in the process of completing new plumbing systems.

- Pay: $29 – $32/hour, offer dependent on experience
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30AM – 4:30PM
- Voluntary overtime available
The right candidate will have:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 3 years of new construction plumbing experience
- Completion of the Journeyman’s examination is not required, but beneficial.
- Valid driver’s license (Class C minimum) with a clean record.
- Must be able to safely operate and park commercial service vans or box trucks, as well as read GPS systems or maps.
- Must be able to responsibly manage the assigned company vehicle, including keeping it clean and organized, and promptly reporting necessary maintenance or mechanical issues.
- Ability to read, interpret, and discuss technical blueprints, change orders, and code requirements with management, inspectors and engineers.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Proficiency in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
Our New Construction Technician (Journeyman Level) will:
- Measure, cut, thread, and join pipes for underground sewer, water, and storm drainage systems before foundations are poured.
- Route supply lines (PEX, copper) and DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) systems through wood and metal framing.
- Lay out, build, and test gas distribution lines for appliances and heating systems.
- Install high-end fixtures including sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, and custom showers after drywall completion.
- Ensure all installations fully comply with state and local plumbing codes to pass municipal inspections on the first turn.
- Perform pressure tests (air and water) on all completed systems to guarantee leak-free operation.
- Coordinate with project foremen, general contractors, and other trades (electricians, HVAC) to keep projects on schedule.
- Interpret architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and isometric plumbing schematics to plan pipe routing
