Are you interested in keeping our DOWNTOWN YMCA neat and tidy, to ensure the comfort and safety of others? As a Housekeeper, and an important member of our team, you will perform all of the day-to-day cleaning services, including locker rooms. We are currently seeking MALE housekeepers who are able to clean our men's locker rooms, in addition to other responsibilities below.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure the cleanliness of the facility by completing the daily checklist
- Perform duties such as wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and other general cleaning
- Record and report repairs as needed and report hazardous conditions to supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months or more of related experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents, and document work as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties of job
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Ability to work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms
- Ability to work in conditions that will create dirt and dust
- Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to perform duties which may include: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; shoveling; carrying, working in narrow and/or confining spaces: underground, overhead, and at ground level; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs; and lying on stomach and/or back
