The YMCA is seeking friendly, dependable individuals to serve as the first point of contact at our outdoor pool. In this role, you'll help create a safe, welcoming environment by greeting members and guests, monitoring access to the pool area, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the summer season.
We are hiring for multiple seasonal positions with shifts available between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the security of the outdoor pool area by scanning members & guests in and enforcing YMCA policies
- Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, helping foster a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Offer support and information as needed
- Build positive relationships with members and help connect them with YMCA programs, services, and one another
- Address member questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly and redirect to a supervisor as needed
- Notify a supervisor of unusual situations, unresolved concerns, or any issues requiring follow-up
- Help monitor the pool area for safety hazards, cleanliness concerns, or maintenance issues and report or correct them when appropriate
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional pool entrance area
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Prior customer service experience engaging diverse populations of people highly preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand for potentially long periods of time, walk, stoop, bend, hear, see and lift.
- Ability to work in an outdoor setting, including summer heat and sunlight, around outdoor elements and an aquatic environment.
TRAINING
- New Employee Orientation required within first week of hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire
