Join us at YMCA Camp Ocoee as our Maintenance Assistant! The Maintenance Assistant is a vital part of the Camp Ocoee team and is responsible for routine and preventative maintenance of facilities, grounds keeping, vehicles, and other equipment at Camp.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic repairs and maintenance of buildings, cabins, program areas, and grounds
- Groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, and trash removal
- Help maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies
- Routine maintenance and inspections of vehicles and boats
- Follow all camp safety procedures and guidelines
- Trash collection daily (including Saturday afternoons during the summer season)
- Complete basic maintenance requests
- Assist Maintenance Director with projects
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience; certificate in advanced area of technical study preferred
- 2 years experience in facility maintenance and grounds keeping preferred
- Must display high degree of professionalism and customer service
- Ability to climb, stoop, bend, lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions
