Fiesta Auto Insurance – Human Resources Generalist
We are a rapidly growing car insurance agency with 40+ offices and 160 employees spread throughout California. We’re looking for an organized, service-oriented HR Clerk to support daily HR operations. The HR Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Department of Gaytan & Pineda Insurance, DBA Fiesta Auto Insurance. This role assists with maintaining employee records, processing new hires, coordinating onboarding documentation, and ensuring HR compliance across all G&P California locations. The HR Clerk helps facilitate the smooth operation of daily HR functions, supporting both field offices and the corporate team with professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and databases (digital and physical).
• Assist in processing new hire and termination paperwork, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
• Support with onboarding/offboarding processes (new hires, terminations, transfers)
• Coordinate new-hire paperwork, benefits enrollment, and 401(k) / retirement plan administration.
• Collect, review, verify employee timesheets, attendance, and PTO requests for accuracy.
• Track employee certifications, training records, and compliance requirements.
• Support the coordination of employee training sessions and maintain training attendance logs.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and benefits in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with recruitment efforts including posting job openings, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
• Maintain confidentiality of all employee and company information at all times.
• Perform general office duties such as scanning, filing, copying, and data entry to support HR and Operations needs.
Requirements:
• 1-2+ years of HR support, administrative or clerical experience; HRIS exposure a plus
• Effective attention to detail, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization skills ability to implement structure for the Human Resource Department.
• Extensive Understanding and knowledge of California and OSHA state labor laws, compliances, and procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS/ATS is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across multiple offices
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel when needed.
• Preferred: Bilingual Spanish Speaking
