We're looking for a Shift Leader to lead shifts at Wok to Walk. You'll run the floor, cook on the wok, work the register, and keep service moving during rushes. This is a working lead role. You need to be able to do every station while also managing the shift. Previous QSR or fast-casual experience required; wok experience is a plus but not required.
Schedule
- Typically 5 days per week, 30-40 hours
- Shifts include opening (9:30 AM-4:30 PM), mid (11 AM-4:30 PM), and closing (4:30 PM-10 PM)
- Weekend and evening availability required
- Schedule varies based on business needs
Store hours: Mon-Thu: 11 AM - 8 PM | Fri-Sat: 10 AM - 9 PM | Sun: 11 AM - 7 PM
Pay: $18-24/hour total ($18 base + $4-6 tips, base starts at $17 and increases to $18 after 90-day probation)
What You'll Do
Lead the shift
- Run pre-shift huddles and assign stations
- Monitor ticket times and order accuracy throughout service
- Coach crew members in real time on service and food quality
- Manage walk-in and delivery order flow, throttle when needed
- Open/close tills and make end-of-shift deposits
- Complete opening, mid, or closing checklists and temperature logs
- Process refunds and voids, update 86 lists in Toast POS
- Log waste and report variances to management
Work the wok
- Cook dishes to order using wok techniques - stir-fry meats, vegetables, noodles, and rice
- Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation standards
- Follow recipes and portion control for consistency
- Jump on the wok station to clear backlogs during peaks
Work the counter
- Take orders accurately on the POS system
- Assemble bowls at the cold well, act as expo when needed
- Process cash, credit, and debit transactions
- Provide friendly customer service
Prep and inventory
- Execute the daily prep plan
- Assist with on-hand counts, delivery receiving, and FIFO rotation
- Help with food prep - chopping, portioning, labeling
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum 6 months QSR or fast-casual experience
- Hot line or wok cooking experience preferred
- Must obtain SNHD Food Manager certification within 14 days (reimbursed after 60 days)
- Comfortable with POS systems, smartphones/tablets, and digital checklists
- Able to stand for extended periods, work in a high-heat environment, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
