Overview of the Role
The Shift Lead takes on a leadership role and responsibility in the Restaurant and its operations. Shift Lead is an example for other Team Members, exemplifying the Core Values and 2nd Mile Service. Shift Leads step into a leadership role by being able to handle guest complaints delicately, alleviate pressure from the Person-in-Charge and management, serve as a resource/guide for Team Members, and lead the floor area for which they hold position (i.e., front counter, mobile area, bagging station, etc.). Shift Leads will complete training provided via Pathway and/or Senior Management. This will also provide the foundation for growth potential at Chick-fil-A 98th and Columbus Ave and ensure all guests receive signature Chick-fil-A service and food. Shift Lead Core Responsibilities:
Leading Daily Operations
- Oversee and ensure smooth operations during assigned shifts.
- Monitor workflows in the kitchen, front counter, and guest experience
- Troubleshoot any operational or customer service challenges.
- Manages team members' shifts, breaks, and rotations
- Hands-On Management: Actively participate in all aspects of operations, including food prep, order fulfillment, and customer interactions, to set the standard for excellence.
Team Leadership
- Deploy team members efficiently based on business needs.
- Train and coach team members to uphold Chick-fil-A standards.
- Motivate team members and foster a positive work environment.
- Go-to person for the person in charge, able to independently monitor operations and Team Members
Customer Service
- Ensure guests receive exceptional service and hospitality.
- Handle customer complaints and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ensure accuracy and speed of service meet company standards.
Operational Tasks
- Open and close the restaurant according to procedures.
- Manage cash drawers and handle daily cash reconciliation.
- Assisted with inventory checks and communicated stock needs.
- Complete the required number of eRQAs or QIV Focus Area checks during the shift
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness.
- Ensure all team members follow Chick-fil-A policies and procedures.
Reporting
- Document shift details, including performance, challenges, and goals.
- Provide feedback to management for continuous improvement
- Ensures team members are correctly clocking in and out of shifts within compliance standards
Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 21 years of age
- Must have Fast Food Experience
- At least 1 year(s) of managing/leading employees
- GED or High School Diploma
