Job description
The Wilds Golf Club is looking for energized and enthusiastic team members in the events department. Events/Banquets are a fast-paced environment that requires thinking on your feet. The ideal candidate likes working closely as part of a team. As a banquet server, you will help execute event set up and tear down. You will play a key role in ensuring food and beverage services go as smoothly as possible. It is important that the ballroom stays as clean and organized as possible throughout the duration of the event. We also prefer to cross-train in the restaurant for Servers. If you are looking for a full-time position, you could be cross-trained or work part-time in just Events.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years or older - 18 to cross-train in a restaurant
- Flexible scheduling - daytime, evening, weekends, and some Holidays
- Team player
- Professional manner and appearance
- Outgoing and friendly demeanor
- The ability to multitask & function in a high-paced environment
- Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours
- A high level of attention to detail is required
- Exceptional communication skills
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to carry trays with food and beverages
- Previous serving experience and flexible availability are preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and assist with the set-up of the event
- Greet guests upon arrival
- Make guests feel welcome and appreciated
- Help get food out in an organized and efficient manner
- Consult with management or the kitchen if guests have special dietary restrictions
- Help bus all the dishes throughout the night as needed
- Keep an eye on the bar and offer to help with restocking if you are 18+
- Banquet servers are responsible for working the event for the duration. Tear down and room flips may be required after the event.
- We ask that you refrain from being on your cell phone. The restaurant phone is available for emergencies if family or friends need to reach you.
