As an expediter at the Range Café, you are a crucial part of our guests’ experience. The

expediter works with the kitchen to organize and build food orders as they come out of

the kitchen. The expediter will also build to-go orders and assist delivery drivers and

guests in receiving the correct food. Our high standards of “Guest Amazement” are

maintained through the effective teamwork of our team members who share and

embody our values and the desire to do the very best for our guests.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize dishes as they come out of the kitchen so that the right food reaches the right guest.
  • Restock workstations with cutlery, condiments, takeout containers, and all other products relevant to the service of food for both dining and carryout guests.
  • Double-check food for accuracy and quality before delivering to the guest. You are the last stop and the final quality check while the food is still under our control. Quality assurance is a major component of your work.
  • When and if needed, assist servers in the delivery of food to dine-in guests.
  • Build to-go orders and ensure that the food is accurate, looks delicious and is sent out with the appropriate sauces, condiments, and cutlery.
  • The expediter acts as the liaison between third party delivery drivers and the restaurant. You will assist drivers in taking the right food for the right guest.
  • The expediter acts as the point of contact between the hospitality staff and the kitchen. Communication should flow through you to ensure clarity, speed, and accuracy.
  • Assist the kitchen in navigating peak hours by helping them clear tickets as they are fulfilled. Further assist the kitchen in completing orders by communicating which items are still needed from all orders.
  • Use your knowledge of kitchen preparations and timings to inform hospitality staff of estimated wait times for tickets.
  • Work with the understanding that you are in view of the guest and your behavior can positively impact their experience.
  • Assist guests to the fullest extent of your ability when needed.

OVERLAPPING RESPONSIBILITIES

Overlapping responsibilities is an understanding and working contract established to

support team synergy and efficient performance for the restaurant. Defining job

responsibilities for each position on the team is necessary but can also be misleading.

Whenever there is time to support each other without injuring our position’s priorities,

we must endeavor to do so. Support for fellow team members reaches beyond defined

position and duties. Be prepared to help fellow bussers, dishwashers, hosts,

bakery/pantry, kitchen, expediters, servers, and team leaders; and benefit by expanding

your knowledge, performance and skill sets for all restaurant operations. We ALL have

the same job…to provide an AMAZING experience for our guests.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • No prior restaurant experience required.
  • Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must possess, understand, and utilize a sense of urgency, and be able to work at a fast and efficient pace.
  • Be able to lift, reach bend and stoop.
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver tableware frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Be able to multitask
