Business Development & Account Executive

Position Summary

The Business Development & Account Executive is responsible for driving growth through strategic outreach, relationship management, and market development within the healthcare space. This role blends business development, account management, and marketing execution, with a strong emphasis on independent initiative, relationship-building, and measurable results.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes ownership of their contact pipeline, and is comfortable engaging with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), case management teams, discharge planners, and other healthcare stakeholders. This position plays a key role in expanding market presence, strengthening partnerships, and supporting organizational growth initiatives.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with company growth goals.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within hospitals, SNFs, clinics, and care management organizations.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective and active accounts.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to decision-makers, including case managers, social workers, discharge planners, and administrators.
  • Track and analyze territory performance, referral trends, and market activity.


Account Management & Relationship Building

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Support account onboarding, implementation, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Act as a customer advocate, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and professionally.
  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.


Marketing & Market Presence

  • Support development and execution of marketing initiatives and outreach campaigns.
  • Coordinate presentations, materials, and collateral for client meetings and events.
  • Track outreach activity and engagement metrics.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, facility visits, and community functions.


Data, Reporting & Strategy

  • Track and report on account activity, referral volume, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze trends and provide insights to leadership to guide strategic decisions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of outreach, meetings, and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with leadership and operations to align growth efforts with operational capacity.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with operations, dispatch, compliance, and leadership during new account rollouts.
  • Support contract implementations and service expansions.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership to support service improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Recent business Development experience, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field (required).
  • Experience in account management, or healthcare sales.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare environments such as hospitals, SNFs, or care coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and reporting dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare transportation, EMS, or post-acute care environments.
  • Background in healthcare operations or care coordination.
  • Experience working with referral-based or contract-driven business models.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with frequent field visits to healthcare facilities.
  • Approximately 30% office/administrative work; 70% field-based activity.
  • Must be able to walk facilities, climb stairs, and navigate healthcare environments.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Regular use of laptop, mobile phone, and office equipment.
