Job Summary
As the first point of contact for our guests, you are the "Face of the Restaurant." We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and friendly Hostess/Host to create a warm and welcoming first impression. You will manage the flow of the dining room, coordinate seating, and ensure every guest’s experience starts and ends on a high note.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Greeting: Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, open doors, and provide a professional "hand-off" to their assigned server.
- Reservation & Waitlist Management: Manage bookings and walk-ins using Open Table. Provide accurate wait time estimates during busy shifts.
- Seating Coordination: Escort guests to their tables while balancing the workload across server sections to ensure smooth service flow.
- Phone Etiquette: Answer incoming calls professionally to handle reservations, takeout orders, and general inquiries.
- FOH Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized host stand, sanitize menus, and ensure the entryway and restrooms are presentable throughout the shift.
- Team Support: Assist bussers and servers during rushes by clearing tables or delivering menus to keep the floor moving efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
- Personality: Outgoing, energetic, and professional demeanor with a passion for hospitality.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to remain calm and composed under pressure or when resolving guest concerns.
- Organization: Excellent multitasking abilities and a sharp memory for table numbers and guest requests.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift (6–8 hours) and lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., high chairs or heavy trays).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of previous host/hostess experience.
