Dairy Queen of Detroit Lakes is a locally owned, family owned, franchise. Opened in 1949, 72 years ago, it is one of the longest continually operated businesses in Detroit Lakes. The Dairy Queen Grill and Chill, located in McKinley Plaza, Dairy Queens third location in Detroit Lakes, opened in September of 2016. The Kensinger family has owned and operated Detroit Lakes Dairy Queens for the past 29 years.

There are several different areas to master throughout our store, such as; front counter, drive thru, chill, and kitchen. By mastering all different areas there may be advancement opportunities available to an employee that is eligable.
We have shift leader positions & assistant manager positions that may be available, along with appropriate training for each position. We offer several different options when it comes to training. If you are a visual learner we have online tutorials for you to go through and learn each step along with a hands on approach.
