After mastering a Lead position in the Front or Back of House, it's time to switch seats. Cashiers that learn to run kitchen stations or Cooks that learn to run our Point of Sale and attend to guest needs set themselves up for growth into our Shift Leader role. There you'll learn to step up your leadership and direction skills while learning the daily functions of the important programs we use for inventory, order management, and financials. When you're ready for the next step in your journey, the Assistant General Manager role calls for even more leadership talent, and pushes you to understand and affect the Profit & Loss evaluation of your store - a must for continuing on to General Manager. At the top, the controllables are on you, balancing food & labor costs to create success while also taking a central role in growing sales for your location. If your restaurant is creating market growth and you're aiming beyond the store level, Area Supervisors take responsibility for leading all local stores in P&L success and enhancing the Taziki's name in their cities. What is it like to work at Taziki's Cafe?
As a Kitchen Team Member, your day starts with the heart of what we do – prepping fresh ingredients to become extraordinary meals. Say good morning to your team, grab your prep sheet, and dive in. You’ll spend a couple of hours checking the quality of your products and following the recipes for your station, and (as is the Taziki’s way!) cleaning your dishes and your station as you go. Before the doors open for lunch, you’ll work as a team to prepare catering orders and then set up your station on the line. Next, you’ll welcome guests (say hello!) and make fresh meals to order alongside your line team for both Dine-In and Take-Out. Once the rush has passed, you may have a bit more prepping to do to set up your evening team, you might run the line with your manager during our “Thru” period, or you might grab a tablet and do some online training courses to learn a new station or aim for a leadership role.
If you’re on the evening team, you’ll check your station when you arrive in the afternoon to make sure you’re set for dinner service. Get the hand-off from your morning team and see if you have any items to prep. You’ll welcome our dinner guests and produce lots of delicious meals for families to take home with our popular Off-Premise options. As the night winds down, you’ll clean and organize your products and equipment, making sure all is good to go for the busy morning crew. Say goodnight to your team, be proud of all the people you fed today, and come back tomorrow to make it happen again!
As a Hospitality Team Member, your day starts with the heart of what we do – helping the team prep delicious food! Say hello to your team, grab your prep sheet, and dive in. You may have some pita to season or cookies to bake - the best smelling job in the house! Then you’ll check the Dining Room and guest areas to make sure they are clean, stocked, and beautiful. Before the doors open for lunch, you’ll work as a team to assemble catering orders and get your register areas ready. Next, you’ll welcome guests (get to know your regulars by name!) and place both Dine-In and Take-Out orders for them. When you hear “Runner!”, you know it’s time to take a hungry guest their order - but check it closely, because you’re the last line of defense for a perfect meal! On your way back to the kitchen, see if you can clear any dishes or tidy up the Dining Room so guests can enjoy it. Keep an ear out for the phone, as you’re the one guests are counting on to place phone orders with or maybe ask about hours or directions.
As the shift winds down, you’ll clean and organize your work and guest areas, making sure all is good to go for the next crew. You might grab a tablet and do some online training courses to learn a new station or aim for a leadership role before heading out. Say goodbye to your team, be proud of all the people you fed today, and come back tomorrow to make it happen again!
