Job Title: Bartender

Job Summary

Altura Concepts is seeking skilled, energetic, and hospitality-driven Bartenders to provide exceptional beverage service across our family of full-service restaurants, lounges, and fast-casual concepts. Bartenders are responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining an organized and efficient bar, and creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, knowledgeable about beverages, and committed to upholding the standards of excellence that define Altura Concepts.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner while creating a positive bar experience.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Recommend menu items, specialty cocktails, premium spirits, wine, and beer to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Accurately take guest orders and process payments using the company's POS system.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the bar, equipment, and workstations throughout each shift.
  • Prepare garnishes, fresh juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients before and during service.
  • Monitor bar inventory and communicate low-stock items to management.
  • Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, and supplies as needed.
  • Verify guest identification and comply with all TABC regulations regarding responsible alcohol service.
  • Recognize signs of intoxication and follow company policies regarding responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling and payment processing procedures.
  • Collaborate with cocktail servers, barbacks, hosts, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient operations.
  • Complete opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company policies regarding sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Altura Concepts with integrity and professionalism.
  • Assist with training new team members when requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, lounge, or bar preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, craft cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Current TABC Certification or ability to obtain before employment.
  • Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain if required by local regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old or meet minimum legal age requirements for alcohol service.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in upscale or high-volume restaurants, lounges, or bars.
  • Knowledge of craft cocktails, premium spirits, wine pairings, and local beers.
  • Strong sales and upselling abilities.
  • Experience using POS systems.
  • Ability to build rapport with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and guest recovery skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, including cases of liquor, beer, ice, and bar supplies.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as necessary.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as shaking, stirring, pouring, and garnishing beverages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business demands require.
