Job Summary
Altura Concepts is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashiers to provide exceptional service across our family of full-service restaurants, lounges, and fast-casual concepts. Cashiers are responsible for accurately processing customer orders and payments while creating a positive first and last impression for every guest. The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet every guest with a friendly, welcoming, and professional attitude.
- Accurately take customer orders in person, over the phone, and through online ordering platforms, when applicable.
- Process cash, credit card, gift card, and digital payment transactions accurately using the company's POS system.
- Answer customer questions regarding menu items, pricing, promotions, and ingredients.
- Recommend menu items, beverages, desserts, and add-ons to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Ensure all orders are entered accurately and communicated clearly to the kitchen.
- Assemble and verify to-go orders for accuracy before providing them to guests or delivery drivers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier station, dining area, beverage station, and front counter.
- Replenish supplies including cups, lids, utensils, napkins, condiments, and beverage stations as needed.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Balance cash drawer and follow company cash handling procedures.
- Assist with opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.
- Follow all company policies regarding food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and guest service.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent Altura Concepts with integrity and professionalism.
- Support other front-of-house team members during busy periods.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous cashier, customer service, restaurant, or retail experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic math and cash handling skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain if required by local regulations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using restaurant POS systems.
- Previous experience in a fast-casual or quick-service restaurant.
- Strong sales and upselling abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and guest recovery skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy periods.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds, including boxes, beverage supplies, and restaurant materials.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as business demands require.
