Unbound Bookstore / 格外书店 the first independent Chinese bookstore in the San Francisco Bay Area. The physical space is located at 38 Waverly Pl, San Francisco and is currently undergoing renovations. It is scheduled to officially open in San Francisco Chinatown in 2025. We are committed to meeting the reading needs of the local Chinese community, building a diasporic cultural space, and inheriting and exploring the spirit of independent bookstores. In addition to offering high-quality Chinese books, the bookstore will also host lectures, film screenings, live music, art exhibitions, and other events to cultivate a multidimensional literary and artistic community.
