Summary:
The Service Manager is responsible for managing an efficient and profitable Service Department by striving for guest retention and achieving total guest satisfaction in the department.
Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Regularly exercise independent authority and discretion to recruit, train, manage and develop the Service Department staff.
- Regularly exercise independent authority and discretion to manage job performance of Service Department staff.
- Regularly exercise independent authority and discretion to manage and monitor department performance using appropriate reports, tracking systems, and surveys.
- Regularly exercise independent authority and discretion to develop policies and procedures related to Service Department operations.
- Control and manage costs and the profitability of the Service Department operations.
- Regularly exercise independent authority and discretion to establish goals and objectives for the Service Department.
- Maintain and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that govern and affect the Service Department operation.
- Keep abreast of new products, features, etc., and their benefits to guests.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least 5 years of automotive industry experience and expertise (auto repair, customer service and sales); auto repair skills, preferably ASE certifications;
- Must have a valid California driver's license and good driving record.
- Must be willing to work extended hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
- Required to maintain the profitability of the department while controlling expenses and maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Able to problem solve and handle a variety of issues.
- Must be self-motivated and able to follow direction and able to work independently or as a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task projects, establish priorities, work independently and organize effectively.
- Must be detail orientated and be able to work under pressure.
