Meat Cutter - Butcher

Full-time
Rate of pay$15 - 21 per hour

The Meat Processor - Butcher works in our local meat locker performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat. Work includes slaughtering tasks, cutting standard or premium cuts of meat for marketing, making sausage, smoking meat, packaging meats, and at times, running the store front.


A Typical Meat Processor - Butcher workday includes:

  • Tasks typical of custom beef and pork butchering and processing
  • Ensuring food safety and quality
  • Cleanliness and housekeeping while maintaining a safe working environment
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment; standing the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Knowledge and skill to make all beef and pork cuts
  • Able to operates bandsaw to make all essential cuts
  • Ability to operate on the kill floor as needed
  • Must be able to lift 50-80lbs
  • Capable of operating the smokehouse and making processed meats
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment; wearing all safety equipment required.
