Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Estimator / Construction Project Manager to join our team. This hybrid role consists of approximately 50% estimating responsibilities and 50% project management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction estimating, particularly in restaurant and retail environments, along with the ability to oversee project execution. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Responsibilities (50%)
• Oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, address any on-site issues, and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, proactively identifying and addressing potential delays or cost overruns.
• Facilitate clear communication between all stakeholders, including company leadership, contractors, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Assist with obtaining necessary permits and approvals for construction projects.
• Provide regular project updates and reports to company leadership.
Estimating Responsibilities (50%)
• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including new builds, remodels, and tenant improvements.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Work closely with the Senior Director of Construction to ensure estimates align with company budgets and financial goals.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather necessary cost data and ensure project feasibility.
• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather data for estimating purposes.
• Prepare and review bid packages to ensure alignment with company standards and project requirements.
• Track and monitor project costs, change orders, and assist with budget adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality work.
• Ensure all estimates comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Assist with contract negotiations and procurement of necessary materials and services.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and market conditions to provide accurate estimates.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of commercial projects.
• Experience in restaurant construction and remodels is required, particularly in the QSR (Quick-Service Restaurant) sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, estimating principles, and project management best practices.
• Experience managing construction projects from inception to completion.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various teams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software, and project management tools such as Contractor Foreman, BlueBeam, or similar.
• Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to travel to project sites, both locally and out of state.
• Ability to navigate construction sites and conduct on-site assessments.
