Overview:
We are seeking a locally based HR Consultant to provide hands-on HR support on a part-time, as-needed basis. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working with small organizations to help them build strong people systems, ensure compliance, and support a healthy workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on HR best practices, policies, and procedures aligned with California employment laws.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee file compliance.
- Assist with performance management and documentation.
- Guide and support leadership in employee relations matters.
- Conduct HR audits and recommend improvements to HR systems.
- Assist with HR process documentation to build scalable practices.
- Support DEI practices and initiatives, ensuring a welcoming workplace.
- Be available for periodic on-site visits for file audits or training, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven HR experience, preferably with small businesses or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing clear, actionable guidance.
- Located in the [Bay Area / San Francisco] for occasional on-site needs.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.) is a plus.
