About the Role:
When you step into a classroom, you bring calm, consistency, and reassurance. By following established routines and providing steady care, you help children feel supported and secure during transitions. Your flexibility ensures classrooms continue to run smoothly when regular teachers are absent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom coverage for infant, toddler, and preschool rooms as needed
- Follow lesson plans, routines, and classroom procedures provided by staff
- Maintain a safe, supervised, and engaging learning environment
- Support daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, transitions, and rest time
- Facilitate play-based activities, group time, and outdoor play
- Use positive behavior guidance and supportive communication
- Assist with basic documentation when required (attendance, notes, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness and help reset the classroom at the end of the day
- Follow all center policies and licensing regulations
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children ages 0–6 in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classrooms and routines
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices
