Purpose & Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the process of taking market research and coming up with new, high-quality food and drink products that drive sales figures for the restaurant and other product lines for the organization. Ideal candidate will have hands-on experience throughout the new product development process, actively participate in all activities relevant to research and product development such as ideation, ingredient sourcing, formulation, bench top testing, pilot and plant trials, shelf life testing, artwork and labeling, packaging concepts and interacting with internal cross-functional teams, customers and suppliers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works on improving current quality of food and drink products, records any changes in formulas/recipes for products
- Participate in testing and tasting of products
- Cook and prepare bench top prototypes
- Ensures that labeling and marketing/promotional literature match product specifications
- Researches and monitors existing quality of food items and identifies potential new product opportunities
- Supports in raw material and finish product documents management
- Willingness to work in fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
- Must be knowledgeable of all safety codes per BP's guidelines
- Ensure compliance with BP’s code of ethics, integrity and conduct
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience working in consumer food development industry preferred
- Basic cooking skills required.
- Friendly attitude with excellent customer service skills
- Able to multitask and work in a team environment
- Must be proficient in computer knowledge including MS Office Suite products
- Capable of multitasking and being involved with many projects at the same time
- Highly motivated to seek feedback and is open to constructive criticism to continually work on self-improvement
- All candidates are subject to a background check and employment verification process
- Bi-lingual in English and Mandarin-Chinese is a plus
Physical demands:
- Ability to continuously stand or walk
- Ability to bend and lift occasionally
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
Work environment:
- Work will be conducted in both office and restaurant environment
- May encounter temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to 425 degrees around equipment in the kitchen if needed to enter that area
- May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces
- Noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud
