POSITION SUMMARY
Upholds the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the company. The Inventory Coordinator will have a primary focus of generating an in-stock position to satisfy every
customer by having the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time. This position is responsible for the overall inventory integrity and maintenance of the store inventory following best practices. The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for strategic inventory planning to maximize sales and profitability and maintain gross margin.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Operations:
• Ensure data accuracy within the system to maintain adequate inventory levels
• Print and process negative reports and correct, as necessary
• Review physical inventory postings and correct, as necessary
• Shoot outs, research variances, and correct, as necessary
• Process Mango count sheets and exception reports
• Monitor shrinkages and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage, and correct, as necessary
• Identify obsolete inventory and maintain markdown strategies
• Maintain accuracy of all location codes
• Collaborate with receivers and cashiers to help identify errors and correct them, as necessary
• Print bin tags for promos, closeouts, resets, etc., as requested
• Responsible for placing all Ace and non-Ace orders, building sku’s, pricing, and receiving for the retail store
• Direct the shipping, receiving, and inventory flow for the retail store
• Manage hotsheets and establish retail prices on the sales floor
• Review pricing and find consistency in sequences and relationships
• Knowledge of pricing definitions for the following categories of items; sensitive, competitive, non-competitive, or blind through Margin Master
• Maintain item change management
• Shop local competition for top sellers, sensitive items, and niche opportunities
• Review sales trends to determine the success of failure of pricing adjustments
• Develop and monitor inventory management reports
Leadership and Communication:
• Maintain and uphold consistent and sustainable company training standards by partnering with Human Resources to plan and oversee training requirements for all associates in terms of inventory store procedures
• Stay current on training opportunities through Ace and other outside sources (e.g. vendors)
• Meet with the Merchandising Coordinator monthly regarding all plans and progresses
• Conduct associate evaluations as per company standards to provide feedback for improvement, praise, recognition, and growth opportunities
• Use huddles, communication boards, and store meetings as the means to communicate the store’s performance and to educate, engage, and motivate the team
• Provide supervisor with metrics that matter
• Work on your own professional development through leadership training opportunities (self-directed learning, local business events, Ace Learning, online trainings, seminars, or conferences)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● High School Diploma or GED, some college preferred
● General understanding of inventory principles
● Analytical with the ability to make sound decisions
● Possess a valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company’s insurance carrier’s standards
● Leadership training, sales, and marketing experience within a retail environment.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization
● Above average time management and organizational skills
● Microsoft Office experience
● Ability to stand, sit, bend, or reach, for an extended period
● Move and handle up to 40 lbs.
Physical Requirements
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
• Frequently stock, load, and unload customer orders lifting to 40lbs
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The minimum training requirements for this position in the first 90days include:
- Ace Learning Place beginning courses
- Epicor Training POS basics courses·
- Propane certification (if applicable)·
- Service Center training
The minimum training requirements for this position in the first year include:
- Ace Learning Place select advanced courses in POS·
- Epicor Training advanced POS courses·
- Rental Center training
A minimum of 30 hours of continuing education directly related to this position is required annually.
