Overview:
We’re seeking an mature and energetic Back of House Director to lead kitchen operations at our Chick-fil-A restaurant. You’ll ensure food quality, operational excellence, team development, and a food safe back-of-house environment that delivers the Chick-fil-A standard of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily BOH operations: food preparation, cooking, temperature control, portioning, and serving standards.
- Train, coach, and mentor BOH team members; hire and schedule staff to meet business needs.
- Maintain consistent product quality, speed of service, and adherence to Chick-fil-A recipes and procedures.
- Implement and enforce food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines; manage health inspection and food safety audit readiness.
- Monitor inventory, ordering, waste control, and cost management to meet financial targets.
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, productivity, and safety.
- Communicate and collaborate with FOH leadership to support guest experience and peak service periods.
- Maintain accurate records (temperature logs, prep lists, inventory reports) and complete required reports on time.
- Work on developing a positive work culture and a place of continuous growth and improvement.
Preferred Experience (not required):
- 3+ years of supervisory/management experience in fast-casual or quick-service restaurant BOH operations (preferred: Chick-fil-A experience).
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations. Food Handler/ServSafe certification preferred or required by location.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Experience with inventory management and cost control.
- Experience hiring and training hourly employees.
